WARPED REALITY is the online reincarnation of the music zine, originally published from 1993 to 1996. Shamelessly 4AD-centric, Warped Reality also covers french pop, no-wave, post-punk, and lots of other interesting music that flies below the radar. Editors Susan and Andrea kept musing about bringing it back, though, and thanks to the wonders of the internet, here we are. ¶ ANDREA is a graphic designer with a background in publishing. Back in the day she co-published and edited the 4•AD-centric print music zine Warped Reality. In addition, she’s written for The Village Voice, Puncture, Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture, SF Weekly, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Providence Phoenix. She’s an unrepentant Anglophile, a music obsessive with a fetish for luxuriously packaged objects, and an expert armchair traveler. She shares a name with a notorious Warhol Factory also-ran, but she’s more of a Mancunian Factory kinda girl. (Although she’ll take the Velvets over just about anything.) ¶ Until SUSAN submits her bio, she remains a mysterious, possibly imaginary creature.
